How to properly degrease your windshield?

• A good cleaning with water and NON-shine shampoo is recommended for a first pass and to remove all dirt.
• Finish with a window cleaner as you normally would. Then let dry.

WARNING: Do not use WD40, white spirit, polishing shampoo, Vulcanet wipes, etc. and other products with silicone or which could alter the glue.

OUR ADVICE +

• It is important that the support is not at too low a temperature. In winter, work preferably indoors, remember to store it there a few hours before.

• If the stickers are not applied immediately, store them in a dry place away from sunlight and heat.

• After application, avoid contact with cold and humidity for the first few days to optimize hold.

You will receive the sun visor strip in 2 parts (the background + the marking) all under flexible transfer to facilitate installation.

Preparing the stickers

• First of all, it will be necessary to distinguish each element.
• On a table, lay the marking flat, as you received it. Then pass the squeegee vigorously over this marking, in order to recapture a little of the transfer grip that could have moved during transport.

APPLICATION OF STICKERS

1. DETERMINE EACH LOCATION

Without gluing it, first place the bottom on the windshield to determine its location. You then decide the height you wish to keep. (check the law in force in your country on this subject)

Hold this final position with tape (painter's tape for example)

2. START PASTING

Once the location is decided, start by peeling off the backing paper (the bottom one) in one corner.

Spray a tiny bit of water ( no soap ) on the surface of the windshield and (optional) the sticky surface of the sticker.

Run the squeegee vigorously and methodically back and forth over the transfer, removing all air and water bubbles.

When the sticker is completely stuck, remove the transfer (semi-transparent paper) carefully, from one corner to the other, keeping it flat on the windshield. Pull back.

If in places, often at the beginning of removal, the sticker comes off, then stick it back on and press firmly again, it is because there is still too much moisture under the glue.

To optimize the hold, once the transfer is removed, you can run a hair dryer very lightly over it, this will dry the moisture quickly.

CAUTION: DO NOT HEAT A WINDSHIELD THAT IS TOO COLD, RISK OF CRACKS.

3. FINISHING AND CUTTING

Take a new blade and cut off the excess adhesive vinyl using the edge of the windshield as a guide.

Push out the last air bubbles with your finger, they may appear on the edges.

Heat a little and lightly to finish.

Repeat the operation for the marking, over this background.

• It is important to keep the surface at the correct temperature. A surface that is too cold will not allow the stickers to stick. In winter, work preferably indoors, and remember to heat the surface a little during installation using a heat gun.

• If the stickers are not applied immediately, store them in a dry place away from sunlight and heat.

• After application, leave to dry in a dry place at room temperature if possible. Avoid contact with cold and humidity for the first few days to optimize the hold.
